Well, this is a milestone indeed! I started this blog two years ago, back when it was called Moda01 - 'moda' means fashion in Spanish by the way. Since then, I have included an Instragram page, a Twitter page and a Tumblr account all in the same name (links to the right) and just kept blogging away to my hearts content.
Now, I have finally reached the 10,000 views landmark, or 10,070 to be exact. It might not seem a lot compared to others, but for me this is a rather big deal, seeing just how far I've come in the past couple of years and how my writing has developed. If you go back to my first couple of posts and then compared it to the pieces I write now, you will notice a huge difference I'm sure! I was 17 when I first started blogging and did not have a clue! I didn't even read any blogs myself. But I gave it a go because it was something new, something a little out of my comfort zone and just because I wanted to. My first ever post was a little introductory welcome, followed by pieces on personal style, up and coming designers (one of which was Sophia Webster who is now super successful!) and things which inspired me, such as Marilyn Monroe, Dolce and Gabbana and of course, the Kardashians!
It feels like a very long time ago since I started theFASHIONbox and I have achieved a lot in my defining teenage years. I have now interned at various fashion magazines such as Reveal, Heat and Woman, I am studying for my degree in Fashion Journalism, I am also writing for another website called fashionsfinest.com and I am working for a very well known and respeced luxury fashion company. But, I still have goals for the future, like I did with this blog. I want to keep on writing interesting, fun content for theFASHIONbox and keeping you all coming back for more! I'm going to try and produce a more diverse mix of articles on maybe not so much fashion but beauty, entertainment news and culture.Any feedback? Just send it my way.
So I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to you all!! You've kept on reading and I've kept on writing, and now we've hit the 10,000 mark. So muchos gracias amigos!
Let's aim for that epic 20,000 mark now!!!

My Time as a Heat Mag Intern!
I'm sorry I have not posted anything for over a week, but I have been incredibly busy... working at Heat Magazine! As a fashion and beauty intern at the famous Heat Magazine, I have had such a fun and insightful week, which has both opened my eyes to the world of a popular print publication and scored me a job covering the editorial assistant while she's away on holiday! So I thought I would share my incredible week with you and give you the low down of what it's actually like at a weekly fashion magazine (and believe me its nothing like The Devil wears Prada!)
I was lucky enough to receive a 2 week fashion and beauty internship after applying online at gothinkbig.com, the site to use if you are interested in interning at Bauer Media publications, which include Heat, Grazia, Closer, FHM, Kerrang and Empire. On my first day I was nervous and excited about what to expect as I hopped on the tube to Heat's office in Shaftsbury Avenue. But, as soon as I arrived everything went smoothly. I met the other editorial intern who would be at Heat with me who was lovely and is now a good friend, and was then shown around by a friendly member of the Heat team, Jennifer. Heat share their office with Closer and Grazia, but the separate magazines tends to stick to their teams and don't tend to mix!
As a fashion intern, my desk was situated with the fashion and beauty team, sitting next to 3 lovely ladies who immediately welcomed me into their team. I have a huge mac computer, plenty of draw space and super comfy chair which is important! What's more the Heat radio is playing all day long with fab old tune songs keeping you constantly tapping your feet to the beat. There's also a large beauty and fashion cupboard, which I've been told to organise a couple of times and let me tell you, even if you are remotely interested in make up you would be seriously impressed! Everyday the team get gift bags and packages from a host of companies including Burberry, Urban Decay, L'Oreal, Mac, Havainas and Yves Saint Laurent, to name just some. And they get to keep and try everything! It's a perfect job really!
Anyway, my jobs include handing out the post every morning, researching for the fashion team, checking prices of beauty products, transcribing interviews with celebs including Kanye West and Gino d'Acampo, picking up items across London, writing news stories for Heat's online website and answering the phones when the team is away. With an hour for lunch everyday, I find the day just flies by and before you know it, it's time to go home at 5pm. Sometimes Jennifer, the editorial assistant, sends me and the other intern to after work press launches which is a great way to socialise with interesting people and pick up freebies, including lots of delicious cocktails!
But overall, I am having such a great time, and was even offered the position to cover for a week for the editorial assistant which was amazing. Yes, it will add more pressure but then again, it will be invaluable experience which will help me in the future and I'm sure it will be a lot of fun too! With one more week to go at Heat as an intern, I find I can't wait to go back on Monday and continue to help out in any way I can, and believe me, you are kept seriously busy at Heat! The time flies by because you've constantly got jobs that need doing and the team are generally grateful for your help.
So here's some do's and don'ts which I found during my first week at Heat:
Do:
- Say hello to everyone each morning and be polite to everyone, including the guy who collects the rubbish! Being friendly costs nothing, especially in a fashion mag environment.
- Make yourself available to do ANY jobs, and look excited even if it's the most boring job in the world!
- Ask around if you're not sure about something. People will be happy to help you out.
- Arrive on time at least 10 mins before the actual time you're meant to arrive. That way you look keen to start the day and it shows that you're a punctual person.
- Do everything to the best of your abilities. If people see how amazing you are they will trust you with bigger and better jobs.
-Dress to impress! Well it is fashion, but make sure you have comfy footwear if running errands.
- Have fun and ask lots of questions! This is your time to shine.
Don't:
-Sit around not knowing what to do. Ask around, do some filing, check the courier room, make tea! There's nothing worse than being bored and plus you're here to learn so make the most of it.
- Turn down any tasks. Okay, so it might be something like 'file last years magazines' and you really can't be asked to do it. But this is why you are here, to do the odd jobs. So just smile and do it, and make sure you do it well.
- Never ask to take a lunch break or to leave early. Your supervisor will tell you when it's good to go. And also, never take a sickie! Even if you are truly ill, it will look seriously bad and you'll be missing out on a valuable day of work experience.
- Gossip about the staff to other members of staff. Even if you don't like someone, suck it up and don't start bitching to anyone else about your problems.
- Try and be too big for your boots. Remember you're just an intern, so don't invite yourself along to lunch, blab about what you ate for dinner last night, bore people on your break up from your boyfriend or keep pestering the editor. Really not cool.
Hope that helps! To read some of the articles I wrote for heatworld.com, check out the links below:

Style File: Khloe Kardashian
The Kardashian clan are known for their savvy sense of style, their perfectly pampered hair and naturally blessed good looks. Their Instagram photos earn millions of likes every day with girls all over the world eager to steal their style and learn their flawless make up tricks. And of course, we all have our favorite Kardashian sister...
It's fair to say that all the sisters have extremely different styles when it comes to fashion. Kourtney is the most down to earth dresser, donning easy simple pieces like baggy check shirts, skinny jeans and black ankle boots. With 3 children to chase after, Kourt is probably the least stylish Kardashian (sorry Kourtney fans!) but she doesn't seem to care for the competition between her sisters. Kim is by far the most glamorous... and vain. She loves, or should I say adores, her figure and frequently highlights her famous curves in tight midi dresses, Balmain crop tops, cleavage baring low cut shirts and sexy lace up booties. With the media scrutiny she has surrounding her, you can't blame Kim for wanting to look like she's on the red carpet everywhere she goes.
Kendall Jenner has supermodel looks and is in my opinion the most naturally beautiful of the sisters. She could throw on a bin bag and still look good with her endless legs and toned body, but tends to opt for classic pieces. Leather trousers, Celine bag, white shirt and a pair of sunglasses are Kendall's go to wardrobe classics. While youngest sister Kylie is best known for her inevitable style, consisting of revealing crop tops, short skirts, netted tights and layers upon layers of jewelery, which some may say does not befit a girl of just 17. More is definitely more for Miss Kylie Jenner.
But I want to talk about Khloe Kardashian, the unsung hero of the reality TV family. In Keeping up with the Kardashians, Khloe tends to stand as the voice of reason and practical advice amongst her family and has the kindest heart when it comes to emotional issues surrounding the people she loves eg. Scott Disick's alcoholism, Bruce Jenner's transition, her mothers divorce etc. After her own high profile divorce from Lamar Odom, her level of fame has risen dramatically and so has the way she dresses. Khloe has always received unfair and mean criticism regarding her weight, but then that only makes women associate with her more for not having that perfect Beverly Hills figure. With her faithful 'glam squad' and vast closet, Khloe always looks good and even upstages sister Kim on various occasions too!
I love Khloe's style. Her easy day to day look of skin tight blue jeans, white henley top and killer heels is trendy and sophisticated while her love for simple block colours such as black, red, white and grey are refined and elegant. Whether it's a pair of daisy dukes and thigh high leather boots or a black jacket with a shirt tied around her waist, Koko is always on fleek when its comes to her street style. Gym chic - leggings, Nike trainers, grey t-shirt, Balenciaga handbag. Red carpet - tight grey midi skirt, pastel pink crop top, white court shoes and amazing hair. Airport touchdown - huge sunglasses, over sized coat, washed out skinny jeans and knee high boots. Khloe looks great everywhere she goes.
Recently dying her locks a lighter shade of ombre, Khloe experiments with her hairstyles and is not afraid to try something new - even if it means one of her sisters will criticise her effort. Braided, top knot, Croyden face lift, slicked back, blow dried, loose curls or just dead straight, Khloe rocks whatever look she's feeling that day with her glossy make up always on point. When she accompanied Kim on a trip to their native country Armenia earlier this year, it was Khloe who stood out as the more stylish sister. Donning an electric blue a-symmetric jumpsuit one evening she looked amazing while her khaki maxi dress and tan leather jacket the day before was effortlessly fashionable and complimented her amazing figure.
You can't help but love Khloe's style, even if you just take a quick glance at her on a magazine cover. She has had a lot of ups and downs in her much publicized life but always comes out the stronger for it with her positive attitude and can-do way of thinking. Khloe's by far my fav!

The Reincarnation of Chanel
Cara Delevingne and Pharrell Williams are the new faces for the Pre-Fall 2015 Chanel campaign, along with model Brad Kroenig's son, Hudson. The photos are accompanied with a haunting music video, 'Reincarnation', which has already reached over 2 million views on YouTube, which sees Cara (playing Coco Chanel) and Pharrell spookily come to life at night, dancing and singing in an old stately house. The film set in 1954, is supposed to resemble a real trip Chanel took to Austria which inspired her to design the famous tweed jacket.
Cara has expressed her wish to move away from modelling and start a fresh within the acting world, and this video gives her the perfect chance to show off her vocal and acting talents. Pharrell meanwhile is no doubt the big star of the campaign, posing as an unimportant hotel elevator porter who turns into a prince at night.
The photos, taken by the one and only Karl Lagerfeld are from the annual Metiers d'Art show staged in Salzburg in Decemeber 2014 and inspired by The Sound of Music movie. Lagerfeld has previously said about the film, "There's a touch of Pop Art in it. It's not meant to be a historical reconstruction or something heavy like that. This is light and funny." I love the photos and the story behind the pieces. The lighting and the crispness of the photographs are fantastic when flicking through a magazine and embody the spirit of Chanel.
