Chanel Cruise 2015: When East met West

Held in Dubai on a deserted island, attended by the biggest names in fashion and designed by the most talented man in fashion! The 2015 Cruise Collection was a mix of both Western and Eastern influences with loose, easy silhouettes and beautiful patterns reminiscent of Arabian nights. Models sported huge hair, fitted with dainty silver headbands adorned with the Chanel logo, half crescent moons and pearls as make up was dark and mysterious with heavy eye shadow and sculpted cheeks. The iconic tweed suits were updated in pretty pastels colours in baby pinks and lilacs while scarfs were draped across dresses creating a very grown up look, yet extremely chic and stylish. Jewels featured on almost every piece of clothing as well as on numerous necklaces and bangles which added to the overall sumptuous look of the collection. Karl Lagerfeld knows what women want to wear, especially in the hot summer. Every look was elegant, wearable and desirable whether you're holidaying in humid Mexico or traveling the Middle East on top of a camel - there was something to suit everyone.

My favourite look of the show was Joan Small's final dress, which came in a beautiful camel colour with a silver embellished neckline and yards of silk material flowing behind her. The dresses towards the end were also to die for, with the running motif of the show, the paisley/floral design, patterned onto skirts, tea dresses, jackets and trousers. All the dresses were so Chanel and very red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival, as the chiffon and silk hugged every lump and bump and created a look which would win hands down in any party. I adored this collection and can't wait to start seeing celebrities wearing these creations out and about, because seriously, who doesn't want to wear Chanel on the school run?
