New York fashion week has started with a bang! With Lacoste, Alexander Wang and Herve Leger all set to show their collections today, I decided to share some photos from my two favourite shows from yesterday...
Jason Wu gave us yet another clean, crisp and stylish show opened by the one and only Karan Elson. White, black and cream were the main colours of choice which featured on jackets, shift dresses and shoes. The collection had a sporty motif in classic Wu style with dresses that wouldn't look amiss in the office or at a movie premiere. Karlie Kloss wore one of my favourite dresses, a beautiful white fishtail gown that trailed on the floor behind her. Absolutely divine and a good start to New York fashion week.
Cushnie et Ochs, I have to admit, I had never heard of before. But after seeing their spring 2014 collection I am definitely a fan. Michelle Obama, Kelly Rowland and Diane Kruger are just some of the celebrities who have worn their amazing dresses, yet they are fairly new design duo. Anyhow, Cushnie et Ochs, it's a strange one to pronounce, produced a wonderful show full of figure hugging dresses, cut - out detailing and Grecian influences with material draped romantically across the body. Again, colours started very pure and white and ended with a purple velvet dress. All the models looked like tanned, mysterious Spanish seƱoritas as they strutted the catwalk and I feel like this new fashion house will soon become a firm favourite at fashion week.
On with the show: Stay tuned for more amazing coverage from New York fashion week!
